Carlos Kauffmann said after the win that it was dedicated to his daughter who inspired and motivated him to achieve it. The weather was splendid that day which was a major plus point at Road Atlanta, feels Carlos Kauffmann.
Carlos Kauffmann said after the second win at the races that he does not enjoy being in the front in racing, but it is the winning that makes it so gratifying. Confidence and speed is what he gained during this challenge and so he will be competing again next year at the GT3.
Carlos Kauffmann feels that updating on skills and knowledge is highly essential for a race car driver without which he is likely to make fatal mistakes that might injure or kill him or the other driver. Skill is never acquired without experience or practice. Carlos Kauffmann has put in hours of practice to attain this level of skill. Carlos Kauffmann also feels that one has to be highly dedicated to the sport as it needs a lot of focus.
A race car driver cannot rest on his accomplishments and needs to constantly re-evaluate his strategy and learn new skills, believes Carlos Kauffmann. Being level headed and cool is a highly coveted asset for a race car driver besides being able to control the overwhelming emotions of pride, anger, etc. says Carlos Kauffmann.
As a professional race car driver, according to Carlos Kauffmann, one has to remain focused on the moment and be rational to make those split second decisions. In this extremely risky and competitive sport, the stress levels are obviously on the higher side, says Carlos Kauffmann, but being firmly in control of emotions and behavior is the deciding factor. Carlos Kauffmann says the pressure to win is huge not only as an individual but also for the team that puts in tremendous efforts and expects nothing short of victory.
